The well-attended event was the brain child of the social media team of K K Jewels, with Kailash Kabra, the managing director of the company, taking the lead in putting it together
Ahmedabad-based KK Jewels recently celebrated the National Pet Day by inviting its patrons to an exclusive event for pet animals. The event was executed by Artistree Event Management company and Just Dogs, an entity that offers pet supplies and pet grooming products, and also gives advice on how to manage pets and look after them properly.
The highlight of the event was a ramp walk by pet parents and their pets, which was a runaway hit. In addition, there were games for pets, and a dog pool party as well. Besides, there was a counselling session, during which qualified dog trainers gave tips on how to care for dogs and keep them healthy and happy.
Talking about the event, Kailash Kabra, Founder and Managing Director, K K Jewels, said, “We have been seeing these days, especially post-Covid, that many families are coming for jewellery buying along with their pets. So, we started keeping pet treats at the store and kids are very happy about the way we take care of their pets. The numbers started increasing, and our social media team told us that April 11 is Pet’s Day, and we thought of celebrating this. There were 86 pets at the event -- out of them, 78 were dogs, five were cats, and we had three parrots as well.”
The unique event was attended by many clients of KK Jewels. Adds Kabra, “We started a social media campaign for the event, approaching our patrons via our Instagram account. We asked them if they were pet parents, and if so, they were invited to our event to celebrate pets. We then invited those who responded to our campaign. The response was overwhelming, and we are happy that people and animals had a good time together.
“It is our responsibility to take care of not just our pets, but also street animals, and I personally try to do my bit for street animals. I urge everyone to do the same.”
Incidentally, Kabra is known for donating generously to those who work for street animal welfare. Just a day after the event, he made a personal donation to a small outfit that works for rescuing and treating street animals.
Interestingly, instead of sending flowers to its patrons on their birthday and anniversaries, K K Jewels sends a donation to a street animal NGO, Jivdaya Charitable Trust, in their name. It has been following this practice for the past four years, and, so far, has donated almost Rs 20 lakh to the Trust.
