India's largest diamond cluster is scheduled to be established in Mahape, Navi Mumbai by the next year, with an investment of Rs 20,000 crores and the creation of employment opportunities for one lakh individuals
This announcement was made by Uday Samant, Minister of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, during a press briefing following a review meeting in the Yavatmal district in Vidarbha.
Samant stated, "For the past year and a half, Maharashtra has consistently held the top position for foreign direct investment, according to SBI's quarterly survey. The nation's inaugural diamond hub is emerging in Navi Mumbai, with a finalized Detailed Project Report (DPR) and policy in place."
The State Minister of Industries also emphasized that the Maharashtra government has unveiled various concessions and incentives to attract industries to the region. In addition to this, the establishment of India's first jewellery park in collaboration with the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council is poised to propel the growth of India's gems and jewellery sector.
