Swarovski re-starts operations in India

The crystal and gemstone manufacturing company, which recently resumed its operations in India, is taking steps to reduce carbon emissions by 55%

Swarovski, the renowned crystal and gemstone manufacturing company, has re-started its operations in India. The company has also transitioned its production of Swarovski Zirconia to renewable energy sources, resulting in a 55% reduction in carbon emissions. In addition, the company is engaging in solar power and forest protection projects as further sustainability initiatives.

According to a company release, “Founded in 1895, Swarovski is renowned for crafting the world’s finest crystals and Created Stones, distinguished by impeccable quality and rooted in the company’s legendary craftsmanship. With a commitment to championing diversity and a focus on circular innovations, it is the latter aspect giving rise to groundbreaking news.

“The seasons of calibrations, when Swarovski Zirconia and Ceramics were not available, have been diligently used and have paved the way for breakthrough innovations. Celebrating this significant innovation, Swarovski launched in 2023 its biggest new Zirconia components drop in years, showcasing four new cuts, six new colors, and exciting customization possibilities.”

Emphasizing its commitment to being “Made in Austria” and leveraging its proprietary TCF™ colouring technology, the company has over 30 Zirconia colour options and 29 Zirconia cuts. “Swarovski Ceramics further extends this spectrum with 10 natural gemstone-inspired hues and five brilliant cuts. Quality remains paramount, with Swarovski applying diamond-cut standards to its mesmerizing cuts. The Pure Brilliance cuts offer the finest diamond simulant, matching the brightness of the Tolkowsky ideal diamond cut,” the company statement added.
