GJEPC Organises Customs Training Program in Kolkata

A four-day Customs Training Program for Customs Appraisers kicked off on November 4 at the Air Cargo Complex in Kolkata. Organized by GJEPC, the initiative aims to enhance the skills and expertise of Customs officials in the gems and jewellery sector.

The training session was inaugurated by Principal Commissioner of Customs (Airport & ACC) Shivaji Dange, IRS, alongside Joint Commissioner S. Mondal, IRS, and other officials. Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman of GJEPC, delivered the opening remarks.

In his address, Parekh emphasized the importance of such training programs in empowering Customs officials to carry out their roles effectively. He noted the need for efficient export operations and expressed confidence that this program would equip participants with the necessary skills to support these goals.

A total of 22 Customs officials are attending the program, which concludes on November 7, 2024. Experienced faculty will lead sessions covering a range of topics related to Customs procedures and regulations specific to the gems and jewellery sector.
