Raniwala 1881, the iconic Jaipur-based luxury jewellery house with roots dating back to the 19th century, has announced a strategic partnership with Francorp, the franchising consultancy arm of Franchise India Group, to expand its retail footprint through a franchise-led model
This milestone move signals a new chapter for the 140-year-old brand as it aims to scale beyond its flagship store while staying true to its legacy of handcrafted artistry and regal design.
As part of the expansion, Raniwala 1881 will adopt a hybrid approach using both Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) and Franchise-Owned, Company-Operated (FOCO) models. This dual format will open the doors for entrepreneurs and investors across India to be part of the brand’s growth while maintaining its elite positioning.
“Our jewellery is not merely an accessory—it embodies the spirit of time-honoured craftsmanship and heritage,” said Abhishek Raniwala, Managing Director of Raniwala 1881. “The rising demand for Polki and Jadau pieces presents the perfect moment to grow through a franchise model that safeguards our exclusivity and values.”
Raniwala 1881 traces its lineage to Rai Bahadur Champalal of Beawar, who was honoured by the British with the title ‘Rai Bahadur’ and the distinguished family hallmark ‘Raniwala’—a symbol of enduring excellence in jewellery craftsmanship.
Today, the brand is revered for its exquisite bridal collections featuring Polki set in 18-karat gold, appealing to a new generation of discerning buyers including Millennials and Gen Z. It has also collaborated with prominent Indian designers such as Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Manish Malhotra, and Rahul Mishra.
India’s jewellery sector is undergoing a major transformation, with consumer preferences shifting toward branded, heritage-rich offerings. Post-pandemic, buyers are seeking pieces that reflect authenticity, design lineage, and traceable craftsmanship—making this an opportune moment for Raniwala 1881 to scale through franchising.
According to market analysts, the country's luxury jewellery market is on a steady growth trajectory, driven by increasing disposable income and evolving tastes in urban centres.
Francorp will steer Raniwala 1881’s expansion into metro cities and high-potential luxury markets, ensuring strategic placement and premium positioning of its upcoming franchise outlets.
“Heritage jewellery brands like Raniwala 1881 are redefining luxury retail in India,” said Gaurav Marya, Chairman of Franchise India Group. “Through this partnership, we’re creating a refined retail experience powered by the trusted FOFO and FOCO models—balancing scale with exclusivity.”
As Raniwala 1881 embraces its next phase, the brand’s journey from royal ateliers to modern boutiques promises to bring centuries-old artistry to a new generation of jewellery connoisseurs—one franchise at a time.
