Kalyan Jewellers launches 10th UAE store in Sharjah

The company is planning to invest Dh400 million in the GCC by 2016

A high profile ‘evening in Delhi, hosted and organised by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India, the apex body of the Indian gem and jewellery, brought together leading Indian retail jewellers and an eminent audience of Ambassadors and Diplomats, Ministry Officials, including Ambassadors of China, Switzerland, Austria and leading diplomats from Zimbabwe, Japan, Iraq, UK, USA, Brazil, Botswana, Chile and many others. The evening witnessed over 200 guests. The ‘India Evening’ highlighted the gem and jewellery Industry’s proficiency and facilitated strengthening of bi-lateral trade between the participating countries. %% The participating Indian retail jewellers presented their product line in an exclusive fashion show, as an expression of promoting Indian design capabilities. Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers, Jewels Emporium, Farah Khan, Varuna D.Jani, Dipti Amisha and associate partner Ganjam, were some of the participating Indian jewellers.%% The GJEPC also announced its association with Incredible India Campaign of Ministry of Tourism, in the presence of Mr. Subodh Kant Sahai, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, and Government of India. Mr. Rajiv Jain, Chairman, GJEPC said that “We are in midst of witnessing growth of India as a centre for Gems and Jewellery and establishing it as an international destination and the ministry of tourism encompasses a range of countries that may hitherto not have been approached by the Gem and Jewellery Industry”. Mr. Subodh Kant Sahai , Minister of Tourism, said, “India is growing in its stature as a global destination for Gems and Jewellery and it was only a natural progression of that growing stature that we formalise the association between tourism which spans the globe and through this symbiotic association take the GJEPC and its partner members to countries and frontiers yet to be explored.”%% This intiative symbolises GJEPC’s advent on an international platform and enhances its efforts to provide a fillip to trade between these various nations. %%
