As the platinum jewellery category continues to gain momentum among younger, design-conscious consumers, the event will serve as a key industry platform to foster collaboration, spotlight innovation, and drive meaningful growth.

The upcoming edition will convene 14 leading platinum jewellery manufacturers and 60 top retail partners from PGI’s extensive national network. The focus will be on category expansion through PGI’s signature branded segments — Platinum Love Bands, Platinum Evara, and Men of Platinum. With shifting consumer expectations and growing interest in minimalist luxury, the event will explore bold design directions, differentiated product innovations, and marketing strategies tailored for India’s evolving market.

“The Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet was created to enable industry-wide growth by highlighting key innovations and building strong partnerships across the platinum jewellery ecosystem,” said Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director, PGI (India & Middle East), and Head of Global Market Development at Platinum Guild International.
“As we step into the 8th edition, we’re seeing notable shifts in consumer behaviour — platinum is gaining greater mindshare, driven by a blend of evolving style preferences and favourable pricing trends. This year, our focus is on powering the next phase of growth through compelling design language, impactful market storytelling, and a shared vision that extends platinum’s relevance across new gifting occasions and self-purchase narratives. The meet is not just a showcase, it’s a space to rethink what platinum can represent for the Indian consumer today.”

Retail leaders echoed similar sentiments about the strategic value of the event.

“The Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet continues to be a vital platform for shaping the future of platinum jewellery,” said Dr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman, Joyalukkas Group.
“Each year, it inspires us to explore new frontiers of innovation and consumer insight. It allows us to refine our collections and align with the aspirations of modern buyers. This year, we’re particularly eager to see how manufacturers are capturing bold and contemporary expressions of platinum that we can bring into our stores ahead of the festive and wedding seasons. Platinum’s identity as a refined, rare and emotionally resonant metal is something our customers increasingly value.”
Dr. Saurabh Gadgil, Chairman & Managing Director of PNG Jewellers, shared:
“We’re seeing a clear rise in platinum as the preferred choice for self-purchase and milestone gifting, particularly among millennials and Gen Z consumers who appreciate both the design aesthetic and the symbolic meaning of the metal. The Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet allows us to access first-hand consumer insights and understand which product narratives are truly resonating. We look forward to exploring this year’s launches — especially those with strong storytelling elements — that will help us better engage today’s young, purpose-driven buyers.”
Suvankar Sen, MD & CEO, Senco Gold & Diamonds, added:
“As macroeconomic and global market shifts continue, platinum has emerged as a resilient category. Consumers are not just looking for value — they’re looking for uniqueness and authenticity. Platinum’s competitive pricing, along with its purity and rarity, makes it a compelling proposition. The Meet helps us identify curated collections that fit seamlessly across multiple price points and match changing consumer expectations. We’re particularly looking at offerings that balance timelessness with a modern edge.”

On the manufacturing front, a new wave of creativity and engineering is set to define this year’s showcase.

“Our focus has been on crafting platinum jewellery that redefines what studded jewellery can look like,” said Nirav Bhansali, CEO, Prism Jewellery.
“We’re bringing pieces that are not only visually striking but also break away from templated, repetitive design. Expect contemporary silhouettes that celebrate fluidity, individuality, and style. Platinum offers us the design canvas to experiment in ways that are elegant yet edgy, and the Meet gives us an ideal opportunity to gauge retailer response and consumer alignment.”
“We’ve seen a clear and growing preference for platinum among younger consumers,” said Avinash Pahuja, Director, ORO Precious Metals Pvt. Ltd.
“There’s a shift toward understated luxury — pieces that stand out not because they shout, but because they whisper sophistication. Our new collections are rooted in engineered design, where precision meets creativity. The Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet is where these ideas come to life. It’s not just about exhibiting; it’s about conversations, feedback, and co-creating future possibilities. We look forward to watching our partners engage with every piece, understand its story, and imagine how it fits into their own brand vision.”
Nirmal Rawal, Managing Director, BN Jewellers, commented:
“This platform has become essential to our design journey. We’re particularly excited to present our latest line of bi-metal and modular platinum jewellery — something we believe will challenge conventional norms. We’re experimenting with hybrid aesthetics, mix-and-match possibilities, and elevated craftsmanship. Platinum is evolving, and this event captures that momentum.”
K. Srinivasan, Founder and Managing Director, Emerald Jewel Industry India, shared:
“We believe innovation in platinum isn’t just about design — it’s about reimagining the manufacturing process. From investing in global technology to training our teams on advanced techniques, we’re pushing what’s possible. This year’s Meet is our opportunity to showcase exactly how far we’ve come, and how scalable, consistent innovation can position platinum as the future metal for India’s young buyers.”
“Platinum is finding its way into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities — a shift that’s both surprising and encouraging,” said Madhu Jethwani Dhabuwala, CEO – Jewellery, India & Middle East, Jewelex India Pvt. Ltd.
“Today’s consumers outside metros are just as design-conscious and value-driven. Our focus this year is on customisable platinum collections — especially love bands and versatile daily wear — that cater to this growing segment. The Meet offers us critical exposure to retailer inputs that help us adapt in real time.”
Colin Shah, Founder & Managing Director, Kama Jewellery, noted:
“Men’s jewellery in platinum has become a significant growth driver. Younger male consumers, in particular, are seeking pieces that are not only stylish but also meaningful. At this year’s Meet, we’re unveiling new designs under the Men of Platinum collection that embody bold identity, modern masculinity, and emotional depth. The response to this category in recent years tells us that men are no longer passive buyers — they’re active seekers of self-expression. And platinum delivers on that need beautifully.”

Last year’s Buyer-Seller Meet was marked by high engagement and strategic unveilings, including the announcement of Inoveo Platinum — a breakthrough alloy developed to elevate design flexibility — and the exclusive preview of the MS Dhoni Signature Edition from Men of Platinum, which launched in retail stores in October 2024.

As platinum continues to expand its presence in the Indian market, PGI’s Buyer-Seller Meet stands as a cornerstone for nurturing future-ready partnerships, unlocking new consumer pathways, and reinforcing platinum’s role as a metal of meaning, innovation, and elegance.
