Her visit underscored the vital contributions of women in the jewellery industry and the transformative role of IJEX, an initiative by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), in bolstering exports and global outreach for Indian businesses.

Addressing attendees, Irani called for a shift in how women’s roles in the jewellery sector are perceived. “It’s time to move beyond the romanticized narrative of women as mere consumers of jewellery. Women are the architects of success in this industry—they are business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators, contributing significantly across various verticals,” she stated.

She highlighted the immense economic impact driven by women, noting that their contributions span from crafting intricate designs to steering global brands and managing operations. These multifaceted roles demonstrate women’s creativity, consumer understanding, and operational expertise, cementing their position as trailblazers in the dynamic jewellery market.

At IJEX, Smt. Irani interacted with Indian exporters and praised the centre’s dynamic inventory, showcasing Indian craftsmanship’s versatility in meeting diverse global tastes. Commending GJEPC’s leadership for establishing IJEX, she described it as a groundbreaking platform enabling MSMEs and emerging entrepreneurs to establish international connections and scale new heights.

“I am truly amazed by the expertise, merchandising acumen, and humility that drive this remarkable trade,” Smt. Irani remarked, applauding the sector’s dedication to innovation and excellence.

Her visit spotlighted the enduring legacy of Indian jewellery and the rising influence of women shaping its future on the global stage.
